GIVE
For ALEGRIA, the adage is true: A little goes a long way. In 2011, we are investing in photography, visual art, music, and fashion, providing sewing machines, cameras, paint, paper, music stands, and sheet music. Invest in these important tools of empowerment for the 813 children in the orphanage. Give here.

THROW A PARTY
Gather a few friends for wine and cheese, and each give. Host a small-scale exhibit in your corner of the world. Brunch to benefit the children. You can directly improve the children’s quality of life by raising money for a specific need in the orphanage. We’ll send you ALEGRIA materials and point you in the right direction. $10 provides paint for 1 child who has never had the opportunity to create.

$50 purchases fabric for 4 kids to learn to sew and create what was before only their imagination.

$250 buys a new sewing machine for the orphanage community.

$500 enables us to purchase 10 cameras for children to try photography for the first time.

BE A PART OF A JOY PROJECT
Be a part of one of our joy projects in an orphanage in South America. Our teams of artists and collaborators give of their time, energy, and resources to invest in the children and be a part of teaching creative workshops to the children. We will be announcing trip dates this winter.

We have a proposal process for all interested in joining us. We give high preference to ARTISTS, SPANISH SPEAKERS, and flexible, big-hearted TEAM MEMBERS. All joy projects trip members are responsible for trip costs, approximately $550 + Airfare costs (est. $750 roundtrip). We will have limited partial-scholarships available in the future.

BE AN ALEGRIA ADVOCATE

We’re looking to build relationships with committed partners who’d like to get in on the ground level to create this movement and affect real change for children in orphanage communities in South America. We are creating a network of partnering donors committed to investing over the course of 2011-2014 to cover operational and program costs. Please contact Renee@wearealegria.org.
